Q: What is your policy for canceling after a deposit has been placed?
A: Refunds are calculated based on the following:
- 30 days before the event – 80% refund
- 15 days before the event – 50% refund
- 2 days before the event – 10% refund
Note: larger refunds are at the discretion of Selecta Management
Q: Do you have a vat number?
A: We are not VAT registered.
Q: Is it safe to leave our bags in the bus?
A: Items can be left in the vehicle, however this is done at your own risk.
Q: Do you do 1 person transfers?
A: All quotes are based on a per vehicle rate.
Q: Do you own the buses?
A: We have sourced and vetted all vehicles from our 3rd party supplier network. All suppliers are registered vendors and are required to adhere to the Select a Shuttle standards of service.
Q: Why am I charged an extra 3% on credit card transactions?
A: We use a 3rd party payment provider (www.payfast.co.za). Payfast applies a 3% surcharge per transaction as a service fee.
Q: Can we drink on the bus?
A: According to South African legislation, a person cannot be seen to be consuming alcohol in public. However, Select a Shuttle does not have an issue with people drinking beverages on the vehicle.
Q: What is the latest I can book?
A: Bookings are confirmed on current availability. Online bookings are to be confirmed within 24hrs of the departure time. For urgent requests please call our 24hr help line to assist.
Q: What vehicle options do you have?
A: Vehicles are configured based on requirements. The available fleet ranges from 6-65 seated vehicles of various standards from economy, semi-lux and full-lux coaches.
Q: What are your office hours?
A: Office hours for new inquiries and quotations are Monday to Friday 07:30-18:00. An after-hours support line (010 140 3200) is available 24/7 should you have an query on a current booking. New requests can be accommodated through the support line should the request require immediate attention.
Q: Will my driver wait with us?
A: Drivers are requested to wait at the drop off location for all return trips unless otherwise advised. Drivers may move the vehicle to collect food during their wait, after which they will return to the agreed meeting point.
Q: How is your cost calculated?
A: Quotations are calculated based on:
- Distance travelled
- Duration of hire (trips extending past midnight attract an additional surcharge to be paid to the driver as overtime)
Q: When is payment due? And how do I pay?
A: A deposit payment of 25% of total trip value is due upon booking confirmation. The balance of the payment is due prior to vehicle departure. This can be paid electronically or to the driver in cash.
