Its June which means winter is in full swing, the cosy blankets are out, and everyone is stocking up on Milo – the traditional winter essential! While it may be getting colder, it does not mean we have to stay undercovers binge-watching Netflix, longing for the summer adventures to return. In fact, June is jam-packed with fun events in and around Joburg and Cape Town.
Here’s a list of events happening in June that you don’t want to miss!
#1 Capital Craft Beer Festival
The Capital Craft Beer Festival should be marked as a priority in your social calendar if you love good food, great beer and amazing tunes from our local talented musicians. With over 40 brewers at this festival, you can be guaranteed that no one is going home thirsty.
What to Expect
Three stages with live performances from some of the best local musicians such as Mango Groove, Koos Kombuis, Schalk Bezuidenhout, The Black Cat Bones, Fokofpolisiekar, Casper de Vries and many more.
There are ample food stalls to choose from that will be selling waffles, paninis, corn dogs, biltong and of course all the traditional favourites like burgers, wors rolls and more.
For all the die-hard rugby fans out there, the festival will be screening both rugby games on the day.
There will be a kid’s entertainment area that offers exciting programs, obstacle courses, painting and a cosy chill corner with DVD’s.

#2 Ben Harper – Live in South Africa
Unless you have been living under a rock, you would have heard the hype that the extremely talented Ben Harper will be performing on African soil this month. Enjoy all of your favourite songs from this multi-platinum selling musician live in Joburg or Cape Town. From an eclectic mix of folk to hard rock, country and jazz, Ben Harper’s music is a crowd pleaser for any genre.

#3 Castle Light Unlocks Post Malone
Castle Light never disappoints when it comes to hosting international hip hop artists from around the globe. This month is no exception. Castle Light has gone above and beyond for its fans and will be bringing the most influential artists such as Post Malone, as well as the talented Riky Rick, Nasty C and Rouge to our African stage.

#4 The Great South African Gin Festival
Calling all gin lovers, this is an event your taste buds do not want to miss! South Africa’s biggest gin festival will be hosted in Cape Town over a period of two gin-fueled days. The days will be jampacked with live acoustic entertainment, cocktail demonstrations, talks from leading industry experts and of course a massive collection of gin from all around the globe.
What to Expect
There are three different sessions and times to choose from. Each session will be four hours long and tickets can be bought online.
